The Last Dryad

by Jolanda Moletta

Full Moon Circle exclusive

about

The Last Dryad is the first track I'm exclusively releasing for subscribers of the Full Moon Circle.

I created a collage with dried flowers from my garden and an old postcard from the late XIX Century.

I am planning to create a series of songs inspired by nature, the forest, and of course the moon that hopefully will turn into a record one day. 'The Secret Garden' is the first track I released for this series. You can listen to it here on Bandcamp: jolandamoletta.bandcamp.com/track/the-secret-garden

Tree nymphs or tree spirits are known as dryads in Greek mythology. They are wood nymphs and fairies who live in the forests.
The songs I am composing are based on a story I am writing about a solitary Dryad living in a disappearing forest, protecting ancient trees, flowers, and wild creatures. There is a desert of gray ashes surrounding this forest. Even though she is alone, the Dryad is determined to protect her home. Her melodies of hope and strength resonate with everyone who hears them. No matter what happens to her, she will keep the forest alive.

A series of collages will illustrate the story, each accompanied by a song. This would make a great record along with an illustrated book!
